This module specifically relates to topics and concepts addressing multicultural and social environment issues prevalent in urban education. The background information introduces candidates to the work of two educators, James A. Banks and Lev Vygotsky. The approach for this module incorporates the use of biographies as a means to apply research and theory to critical issues in urban education.
